Teenie, tiny text for a small picture. Grabbed this one off of ebay as well, with the stars of David over top a black moon. I’m sure that was the influence for some black metal album. Or perhaps they were going for some Greek influence with the E and A there. Ahhh, the mysteries of life. Ponder them as you squint at this small package of pixels.

Grabbed this one from ebay, considering the considerable shadow on this, it kind of matches the superstarrr laden cover. Another one with the “Only 5 made” sticker on the cover. “Dig Me I’m Bad”  makes me think of the dearly departed pedophile Michael Jackson. Dunno why.

Here’s a copy of the compilation from Dan Maier. The illustration is somewhere between some anime version of Superman, and some rockabilly hammer head. Thanks, Dan!

This copy was originally owned by Keith of Rorschach (who recently played several reunion shows) which was sold by Charles Maggio of Gern Blandsten and Rorschach fame. “Excuse me, I’m new in town. Where are the male prostitutes?”

Variation #38

Got wind of this one from some folks on WITBAWDTSL, and a couple of other folks – originally on ebay (ending price $50). Strange that the “Only 5 Made” is on the front, most exist on the back.  The text reads: “Misfits are not on Fear Of Smell but they should be”. Careful, Danzig will sue you.

Here’s a copy from Neil Bramley with some extra Vermiform stamps on the cover.  Here’s his story (I’m not sure having the insert is much help in making sense of the schizophrenic nature of the track selections…):

I came across your blog about the Fear Of Smell album covers. I have no idea how, but anyway. My housemate is roughly your age and recently sold me a heap of records. We live in Brisbane, Australia but over the years he’s done a lot of travelling and collecting, and passed down some pretty mad stuff: the Born Against ‘Eulogy’ 7″ on maroon vinyl with zine, Negazione/Declino split LP, a bunch of Infest bootlegs and originals, No Comment demo 7″ on red and Downsided on clear etc etc… He also threw in the Fear Of Smell comp, which I was already familiar with, but my copy of the second press never had an insert, which as you can imagine, would make it the most confusing record in the world. It also got borrowed and never given back about five years ago. I re-listened to it and found it to be quite a good listen… from buggin’ out to the Eric Wood track, to killing myself laughing at Sam and Joe.

And the second of two from Vinnie. This one is obviously one from the first batch, spray paint stencil, tinsel, fuck on the back… it’s all there. Drink it in, friends…

Do yourself a favour and check out Irukandji Records for some of your latest harsh sounds. Vinnie has some great stuff in the distro.

EDIT: Here’s a better photo (and the distro recommendation still stands)…

First of two from Vinnie Horsefacekillah. Obviously influenced by, or one of the first batch that Sam was talking about. The tinsel makes me think yes, but the other bits missing, well say no. Either way, it doesn’t really matter because this is a pretty cool cover.  Enjoy.

EDIT: Here’s some better photos of the incriminating evidence:
