Scooped this picture from ebay, looks like the same handwriting as Sam McPheeters. Maybe it’s crayon on glossy stock paper and the wax didn’t transfer?
EDIT: The auction is archived here. For the macabre, it sold for $10.99 – which is about right for a pretty plain cover.
